Highlighting - If you want to look like all your friends who have natural blonde streaks through their hair, you might try getting Foil Highlights. A Stylist or Colorist can give you glowing highlights by putting different shades of color or bleaching agents on pieces of your hair that has been sliced through with a fine tooth comb. Then the pieces are folded up in foil to keep the color or bleach off the rest of your hair. When the hair in the foil is done processing the foils are removed and your hair is rinsed and shampooed. After the process, a good quality color-friendly conditioner is used to protect and strengthen the hair. The conditioning is a very important part of this coloring application, since the hair has just been stressed to the max. Be sure to use salon Color-treated hair products to ensure that your highlights won't fade.

Low lighting - Is an application using a darker color on pieces of hair that has been sliced through with a fine tooth comb and folded in foil. Lowlights are especially good for hair that has been highlighted with blonde too many times. Adding some dark blonde, light brown or even dark brown can really revive worn looking highlights. Sometimes it is done under silver hair to enhance the beauty of silver-gray hair. As with any color service, after getting low-lights one should always use salon products formulated for color-treated hair.

Dark Underscore - This is the name given to the process of coloring just the back, lower part of your hair with a darker color. Usually done on the area just below the occipital bone, it can really make highlights more dramatic as long as you stay within the color hue that you already have. Dark brown is always better than black unless of course have black hair to begin with.

Chunking - This is highlighting hair with thick chunks of hair that radiate down from the part of the hair. Sometimes low-lights of dark color are put underneath the lighter chunks to enhance them even more. This type of highlighting is even more susceptible to damage than regular highlights so be sure to use salon color-treated products on it.

Single Streak of Color - Some people who enjoy being more flamboyant in life, like to adorn their hairstyle with a single streak of color. Whether you have short or long hair, a single piece of hair is chosen (usually near the part) then it is bleached to a light blond. Then a permanent color or semi-permanent color is applied. There are many different semi-permanent colors to choose from. Many football fans like to put their team colors on their streaks. Semi-permanent colors do wash out eventually and have to be freshen up. The best thing about a single streak is, the color can be corrected and changed back to the natural way it was before without too much damage to the hair.

Laser Hair Removal

!9#: Laser Hair Removal

Evolution Of Laser Hair Removal

As the years have past, mankind has evolved in many different ways. We are no longer as hairy as we were in the days of caveman, yet there are people who tend to be hairier than others. Technology has evolved too; so instead of shaving and waxing you can go in for laser hair removal. This is much less time consuming over the years.

Growing Numbers Of Patients

Lasers are now being used not only for hair restoration but also laser hair removal. This is not painful but very costly. More than sixty million Americans have gone in for laser hair removal in the past year.

You can have hair removed from anywhere on your body; yes, anywhere and everywhere. Whether it is from a blotch of hair on your left cheek, your hairy arms, or any other part of your body, all of the hair can be removed. Unlike shaving or waxing laser hair removal will get rid of the hair once and for all. This works because the cells that make the hair are zapped and they die out.

Advantages Of Getting Laser Hair Removal

Laser hair removal has its advantages and disadvantages. An advantage would be that you got that unwanted hair removed and you can live life easier and happier without worrying about that annoying or embarrassing hair. A disadvantage would be the fact that it is very expensive and the rays from the laser could possibly damage your skin.

Risks Of Laser Hair Removal

If you are someone who is planning on going in for laser hair removal, you should consider all the consequences to what you are about to face because things can go wrong. In the vast majority of cases everything goes smoothly, and even when something does go wrong it is usually quite minor.

Percentages Of Injuries

There are many different places to go in for laser hair removal, but going into a place with a very high rating is your very best option. You should never simply choose your laser hair removal clinic at random from the Yellow Pages. You do not want to put your self at risk so choose a clinic with a good reputation.

Only seven percent of all people who have gone in for laser hair removal have been injured. This was either because the equipment was not good, the doctor was not that skilled at his job or the patient's skin was too sensitive to the rays of the laser hair removal.

Affects Of Laser Hair Removal

If you are concerned about the way your skin is going to react to the laser hair removal then talk to the technician. He or she will be able to answer any questions that you may have. Then be aware of your skin changing color to yellow or orange or even bright red. And also watch out for serious migraines that may occur. If you find that you have any of these symptoms then contact your doctor immediately.

Now that you know about laser hair removal, you should think more about it's advantages and disadvantages before you go in and have it done.
